Hi!
This is 8 year old Ava!
My mom and I are launching this project because we believe:
Everyone can be a Hero and benefit from knowing about the Hero’s Journey;
Secret Hero moments are hidden all around us, in ourselves and others (we just have to look); and
These small moments are worth honoring and sharing because they have the power deepen our connection to each other and inspire us all to live more heroic lives.
(…aaaaaaand it’s fun to be crafty and share secrets!)
Over the next year, I hope to collect at least 100 Secret Hero Moments so I can share them with you at this time next year.
Toodles,
Ava
P.S. I am also taking orders for Secret Hero Starter Kits, if you'd like to share this project with friends, family or the learners and parents at your school.
When Ava was 8 years old she LOVED (and still loves) reading, Legos and slime. Her crazy big dream was to earn enough money to take a “plane to Spain." In 2020 She helped her parents, Nick and Angela, launch Acton Academy Northwest Austin.
Ava is now 12 years old and lives in Austin, Texas. and has graduated Discovery at Acton Academy Northwest Austin and is attending Acton Academy West for middle school
Living heroically doesn’t have to be big and dramatic. Heroic acts are not exclusively reserved for muscular men in capes or mutants. Observing our lives through the lens of the Hero’s Journey helps us see others and ourselves in new ways…and it is through this simple act, we hope to spread a broader, deeper, more authentic definition of the word “Hero”.
This project will last 1 year and our goal is to collect at least 100 Secret Hero Moments that we can share this time next year.
1 Hero (that's you!). 9 Secret Moments. and 1 Year.
Will YOU be a Secret Hero?
